A downloadable game for Windows

[This version is a cancelled prototype. Available to play for fun!]

Set in the distant future, Lightless takes place in a world where humanity was forced underground due to an unknown dark plague that overtook the surface of the planet. People know not what it is that haunts them, but they know that the darkness is alive, and it is predatory.

Take on the role of a USMC maintenance technician tasked with repairing the perimeter that leads to the overrun outside. You must maintain the underground frontline facility at all costs, or be taken by the encroaching void.

Gameplay in Lightless is heavily randomised. Items and tasks change locations every attempt, and enemy encounters are non-scripted and completely dynamic.

Hey Red, I just got done playing and after completing all tasks and making sure all was done, it would not let me leave through the hatch ! I charge the generator a bunch but it didn't seem to change anything (won't go past 4 squares). No airlocks opened either. Not sure if there's a bug or if im missing something ?

Hey, thanks for checking it out! The generator has a maximum of 4 power tiers, so it was always fully charged. I should add something to make that more clear.  Airlocks will only open under certain conditions, which you managed to avoid since you kept the power charged. I've seen multiple instances now of the game being sticky when it comes to exiting, so thanks for pointing that out, I'll work on patching that!    d:

Thanks for letting me know it was bugged there at the end, makes me feel better knowing i didn't mess up somehow, ha. Very tense game. I will say that there is A LOT to take in at first, so it's takes a bit to understand. That is part of the charm though.

Great demo !

I figured i'd post my video of it here just in case you were interested :)
